A lot of the time we want to improve ourselves and we are ready to make that effort and we seek education; either formally or informally and we get caught up by things that really do not have anything to do with education and education in this case would be considering the content that specific knowledge that is going to help you improve your particular skills so that you know you have the ability to do a new task and that also raises your confidence level and it also improves your self respect for yourself.
Let us say for example I wanted to learn to swim. Now before I know how to swim, I feel very low self respect every time I pass near the pool because if I slip into that pool I may not make it. However, when I decide to learn how to swim so that I can overcome this fear and have the self confidence in myself, I go to the swimming classes. Now the education that is supposed to be delivered to me is the content; what to do, when to do it, what should I look out for…However, many times we get caught up by context and context is the weather that day, it is the height, the size, the tone, the voice in which your instructor speaks to you, it is the time of the day…
Many people then actually do not take in the content; the education because they get so caught up in the context; the things that happen all around the education. Please understand this difference clearly. Content versus Context and keep your eye out on the Content. That is what you are really paying for as a business. Of course you would want to make sure that the context is there and that it allows you to really make people feel the full value of what you provide but without delivering content you will pretty quickly lose all your customers; all your clients as well; so that is the tip of the day; keep your eye on content that will improve your skills, that will improve your confidence, that will improve your self-respect and keep on moving forward!
