Eureka Thornhill, a vibrant 28-year-old chef and entrepreneur from Mahaica, East Coast Demerara (ECD), has turned her passion for cooking into a thriving business.

Raised by her grandmother in a close-knit community, Thornhill fondly remembers her childhood.

A BIG LOVING FAMILY

Growing up was great. I had my grandmother and my four siblings. We were a big, loving family.

Her journey into the culinary world began at Mahaicony Secondary School, but her passion truly ignited at the Carnegie School of Home Economics.

Graduating with distinction and earning the title of “Most Outstanding Student,” this 28-year-old chef was destined for culinary greatness.

I ALWAYS HAD A PASSION FOR COOKING

I’ve always had a passion for cooking. It was something I loved, and I knew I wanted to turn it into a career.

This entrepreneur first launched her culinary venture as Eureka’s Fish Shop, a humble eatery that catered to her local community.

But about three years ago, she decided it was time to elevate her brand. With the help of her mother, she rebranded her business as Zestful Quishine, a name that reflects the unique flavours and culinary artistry she brings to the table.

Zestful Quishine is different from the rest. We wanted the name to represent something special, something that sets us apart.

Her menu boasts a wide variety of dishes that bring a touch of class to the countryside, including chicken wraps, tacos, chicken tenders, popcorn chicken, grilled chicken burgers, lunches, and BBQ chicken.

We offer dishes that the countryside doesn’t usually provide. It’s a blend of flavours and creativity that people love.

This businesswoman shared that her journey thus far was not without its fair share of challenges.

One of the hardest parts was getting my name out there. I had to rely on social media to advertise my business.

Through consistent effort and determination, she has built a loyal customer base.

I just kept pushing and decided not to give up.

Her advice to aspiring chefs and entrepreneurs is simple: “Go after your dreams.”

Believe in yourself and go after your dreams. God got you. He will break any blockage. Make sure you have good business management and never stop pushing.
