Presenting Rodeo events

1. Riding a wild bull is the most awaited sport of the audience in a rodeo. This sport is not for the faint-hearted. While the wild animal maneuvers to buck off the rider, the rider struggles to stay mounted while the animal tries all movements to buck off the rider. The rider wins if he is able to maintain his seat.
2. Horse racing shows excellent performance of equestrians. It typically involves two or more horses ridden by jockeys or driven over a set distance for the competition.
3. Wild Cow Milking is a rodeo event. The goal is to catch and milk a “wild” cow (or a semi-feral animal that is not used to being milked by people) in shortest possible time.
4. Wild Horse Race is considered by many as the rodeo in itself. These truly wild horses have never been ridden or saddled. The race shows that mustangs prefer to keep it that way!
5. Female Barrel is a woman’s rodeo racing event. It is a combination of the horse’s athletic ability and the woman’s horsemanship skills to maneuver the horse successfully around a three-barrel pattern placed in the center of the arena triangle.
6. Steer roping rodeo event where a cowboy mounted on his horse chases a mature steer having reinforced horns. He uses the rope to catch the animal by the horns; and stopping his horse suddenly will throw the steer to the ground. The event is timed, and the contestant with the fastest time wins.

Miss Rupununi Rodeo Beauty Pageant has recently been added t the event. It features beauties around the Region and neighboring Brazil. This year’s competition is focused in promoting female vaqueros, since the Rodeo appears to be an event dominated by male.  The prizes for women have been increased equal to their male counterparts.
