Humanitarian Mission breaking the cycle of poverty, through Education and Empowerment

September 1, 2020

As the country continues to battle with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Humanitarian Mission Guyana Inc. is working hard at coming up with new and innovative ways to spark motivation and continue to provide educational and empowerment opportunities to help individuals looking to elevate themselves and break the cycle of poverty.

According to the NGO, through the generosity of donors and volunteers, the Mission was able to roll out three brand new online courses, which are being facilitated via Zoom sessions.

The Humanitarian Mission Guyana Inc. is passionate about empowering all those willing to learn. We are most concerned right now about the impact this pandemic is having with our most prized asset, our children

Further, the Mission added that it was lucky to get Robert Coggins, who is pursuing a Professorship in Theoretical Physics at an American University, to come on board and offer his skills and time to develop the Guyanese people.

He wanted to give back to his mother’s birth country, in the way of honoring her, and he is also passionate about teaching and making Maths Fun for children.

As a result, Math Tutoring for grades 7-9 and grades 10-11 was made free of cost to students looking to enroll.  As the organization works on stretching its reach to help as many people as possible, it is currently offering an affordable Online Beginners Makeup Course.

All proceeds from this course will be going towards our Special Project for November to further empower women for the month of ‘Women Abuse Prevention.

To this end, the HMGI is calling on all gifted, talented, and skilled Guyanese who are looking for ways to give back to the community to reach out to them for partnership and collaborations. This, they say, will expand the NGO’s list of online programs that they currently offer.
