When Sonia and Levi Stewart launched their business some two years ago, little did they know that it would have unfolded into a thriving home-based catering service. Speaking with this publication, Sonia relayed that she and her husband always had a knack for Culinary Arts.

“We were encouraged by his brother Troy Stewart to launch our business. We would all be relaxing, then suddenly the boys would get hungry & the kitchen would get busy,” Sonia said.
On February 1, 2019, Sonia and Levi took a leap of faith and launched their business under the name “L&S flavors.” According to Sonia, L&S flavors started with just burgers & fries, which was a night snack for those persons that only wanted something light to eat after work.
But with the generous support from customers, the young businesswoman said they decided to add more items to the menu.
Hence we then started providing them with a variety of choices such as wings & fries, plantain, cheese please, nuggets, fish, kebabs, smoothes & local juice. Our business had become so successful that we decided not only to provide this service at nights but during the day also. We would have lunch specials, bbq chicken, kebabs & much more.
Some of the services provided by L&S flavors include catering for special occasions, parties, barbeque, weddings & much more.
The response from the customers has been great so far. We do have them participate in feedback on our services & products provided. Our current challenge would be that the location of the business currently we do have a lot of competitors and due to the country curfew we have lost a number of customers for the night, but business is still doing as normal during the day.
Sonia said that they don’t only offer a variety of choices in one stop, but the prices are very affordable, and their “secret ingredient is always loved.”

Sonia and Levi hope to expand their business with several other locations and provide job opportunities for young Guyanese. They also hope to have a delivery service available to customers.
