Pump attendants and sluice operators attached to the Regional Two Administration can now be able to effectively carry out their duties, especially in the nights, after the Regional Electrical Department has installed solar lights on the drainage structures.
The move will provide adequate lighting around the structure and will assist operators during the rainy seasons. According to Regional Executive Officer (REO), Devanand Ramdatt, previously, the sluices were dark, and whenever checks were made, things were not visible.
This, he said, hampered operators’ productivity, and as such, the regional administration decided to install the lights to assist. He also commended the regional electrical team’s efforts and said the lights would be useful when it comes to opening of the kokers at nights to facilitate adequate drainage.
