Origin Of The Aruwai Resort
The Aruwai Resort is owned by Chunilall Baboolall and it was declared open on the 12th December, 2015. Mr. Baboolall said he got the idea to build the resort after the price of gold started to fall. He praised his family for their support and at the same time called for government support. This popular businessman has lived in Bartica since he was a child and divides his time between his homes in Bartica and Georgetown and his mining operation is investing in the multimillion-dollar, upmarket, showpiece resort – the Aruwai Resort.

Aruwai Resort Location
Aruwai is situated 15 minutes by Jet Ski from Bartica; it sits on an island once called “Bucktrack Island.” The island is situated at the mouth of the Mazaruni and Cuyuni rivers. The size of the island is approximately one quarter of a square mile. The resort features a 50-room hotel, while visitors will have access to the black water beach that surrounds the island.
